Gofer No Yabou Episode II
is a 1988 computer game, developed and published by Konami exclusively for the MSX platform in 1988. It was only released in Japan and Europe. The game is part of the long running Gradius series of Side-scrolling video game, side-scrolling shoot 'em up, shooters and is a Spin-off (media), spin-off of ''Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou''. Nemesis 2 (MSX)
is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up video game released for the MSX computer in 1987 by Konami. The game is a sequel to ''Nemesis'', the MSX version of ''Gradius'', but is unrelated to the arcade game ''Gradius II'' (which used the Roman numeral 'II'). This version was ported to the X68000 computer under the name , with some graphical and aural enhancements. In a departure from other games, instead of controlling Vic Viper, the available ship is called Metalion. Unlike other titles, this game has a heavier focus on story, which is told by cut-scenes. The gameplay is mostly unchanged from the rest of the series, though there are some powerups that temporally gives the ship some enhancements. Also, when the bosses are being defeated, if the Metalion flies where they are, a mini-level can be accessed in order to obtain new permanent upgrades, if the mini levels are successfully cleared. MSX2 Games
MSX is a standardized home computer architecture, announced by Microsoft and ASCII Corporation on June 16, 1983. It was initially conceived by Microsoft as a product for the Eastern sector, and jointly marketed by Kazuhiko Nishi, then vice-president at Microsoft and director at ASCII Corporation. Microsoft and Nishi conceived the project as an attempt to create unified standards among various home computing system manufacturers of the period, in the same fashion as the VHS standard for home video tape machines. MSX systems were popular in Japan and several other countries. Eventually, 9 million MSX units were sold worldwide, including in Japan alone. Salamander (video Game)
, retitled in North America and in the Japanese arcade re-release, is a scrolling shooter arcade game by Konami. Released in 1986 as a spin-off of ''Gradius'', ''Salamander'' introduced a simplified power-up system, two-player cooperative gameplay and both horizontally and vertically scrolling stages. Some of these later became normal for future ''Gradius'' games. ''Salamander'' was followed with a sequel in 1996 titled ''Salamander 2''. Gameplay The first player controls Vic Viper and the second player takes the reins of debuting spacecraft Lord British, which is sometimes referred to as "Road British" due to the ambiguity of Japanese-to-English romanization. ''Gradius II'' (also known as ''Vulcan Venture'' in arcades outside Japan) is a side-scrolling shooter game. Originally released for the arcades in Japan in 1988, it is the sequel to original ''Gradius'' and was succeeded by ''Gradius III''. Ports of ''Gradius II'' were released for the Family Computer (under the shortened title of ''Gradius II''), PC-Engine Super CD-ROM², and the X68000 in Japan.
