Sports Pavilion (Faliro)
The Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena which is part of the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex is an indoor arena in Palaio Faliro, in Athens, Greece. It is nicknamed "The Little Peace And Friendship Stadium", due to its similarity in design and close proximity to the Peace and Friendship Stadium. It was the site of the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics preliminary matches of handball, as well as the taekwondo competition. The arena seats 8,536 for handball matches of 2004 Olympics, though only 3,836 seats were made publicly available during the Olympics. History The arena was completed on December 20, 2003, and it officially opened on August 12, 2004, shortly before the 2004 Olympics began. In June 2010, the arena hosted the 7th MAD Video Music Awards, held by Mad TV, and hosted by Themis Georgantas. The Prodigy had a sold-out concert event at the arena. Kevin Kaminski (goalball)
Kevin Kaminski (born March 13, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played 139 games in the National Hockey League with the Minnesota North Stars, Quebec Nordiques, and Washington Capitals between 1988 and 1997. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1998 to 2000, was spent in the minor leagues, where his role was an enforcer. He is currently the head coach of the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Playing career Selected in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars, Kaminski played one game for the North Stars before he was traded to the Quebec Nordiques in exchange for Gaetan Duchesne. After spending several years in the Nordiques organization, principally for their Halifax Citadels AHL team, he was traded to the Washington Capitals prior to the 1993–94 NHL season. Jeffrey Allen Christy (born February 3, 1969) is an American former professional football player who was a center for the Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Early life Christy was a starter during all four of his years at the Freeport Senior High School, playing as a fullback, linebacker, kicker and punter. During this time, he rushed for 2,842 total yards, made 340 career tackles, and scored 337 points. He also set nine school records, including the most points in a season (208, which was also a state record) and career, most touchdowns in a season (26) and career (45), and most field goals in a season (6).
