Gmina Trzebiel
__NOTOC__ Gmina Trzebiel is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Żary County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland, on the German border. Its seat is the village of Trzebiel, which lies approximately west of Żary and south-west of Zielona Góra. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 5,679. The gmina contains part of the protected area called Muskau Bend Landscape Park. Gmina
The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta'').
