__NOTOC__ Gmina Krzywiń is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Kościan County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Krzywiń, which lies approximately south-east of Kościan and south of the regional capital Poznań. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 9,892 (out of which the population of Krzywiń amounts to 1,547, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 8,345). The gmina contains part of the protected area called Chłapowski Landscape Park. Gmina
The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster). Lubiń is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Krzywiń, within Kościan County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. It lies approximately east of Krzywiń, south-east of Kościan, and south of the regional capital Poznań. Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lubiń is the site of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The present structure dates from the 18th century but rests on 12th century Romanesque foundations, and other Gothic structural elements. A number of sarcophagi are incorporated in the nave and nave chapel, notably the tombs of Władysław III Spindleshanks and the abbot Bernard Wąbrzeźno. Kopaszewo
Kopaszewo is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Krzywiń, within Kościan County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. It lies approximately north of Krzywiń, south-east of Kościan, and south of the regional capital Poznań. History Kopaszewo was a private village of Polish nobility, administratively located in the Kościan County in the Poznań Voivodeship in the Greater Poland Province of the Kingdom of Poland. The local palace was visited several times by poet Adam Mickiewicz in 1831–1832, and by actress Helena Modjeska in 1868. In the mid-19th century, the estate was purchased by Dezydery Chłapowski.
