__NOTOC__ Gmina Koszęcin is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Lubliniec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Koszęcin, which lies approximately south-east of Lubliniec and north of the regional capital Katowice. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 11,842. The gmina contains part of the protected area called Upper Liswarta Forests Landscape Park. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). The gmina has been the basic unit of territorial division in Poland since 1974, when it replaced the smaller gromada (cluster). Gmina Herby
__NOTOC__ Gmina Herby is a rural gmina (municipality) in Lubliniec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Herby, which lies approximately north-east of Lubliniec and north of the regional capital Katowice. Until 1993 it also included the area which now makes up Gmina Boronów. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2019 its total population is 6,808. The gmina contains part of the protected area called Upper Liswarta Forests Landscape Park. History For several centuries Herby lay on the border of Lesser Poland and Silesia. Therefore, since the 13th century, one part of it belonged to the Holy Roman Empire and overlapping to the Kingdom of Prussia. Rusinowice (German ''Ruschinowitz'') is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Koszęcin, within Lubliniec County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately west of Koszęcin, south-east of Lubliniec, and north-west of the regional capital Katowice. The village is located near to the Polish nature reserve Jeleniak Mikuliny. Rusinowice has a centre of rehabilitation and education for disabled children and adolescents. The institution started operating in 1994.
