Gmina Harasiuki
__NOTOC__ Gmina Harasiuki is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Nisko County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in south-eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Harasiuki, which lies approximately east of Nisko and north-east of the regional capital Rzeszów. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 6,392 (6,236 in 2013). History Harasiuki comes from the family name of Harasiuk. The Harasiuks were the first family to inhabit the area. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta'').
