Glostrup
Glostrup is a Danish town in Region Hovedstaden, forming one of the western suburbs of Copenhagen. It is the administrative seat of Glostrup Municipality, with an estimated population of 22,357 . During the 20th century Glostrup developed from a small railroad town into a modern middle class suburb. The population reached a peak during the 1970s flight from central Copenhagen, but has since stabilized. While most of Copenhagens western suburbs are dominated by public housing projects, Glostrups mix is around the Danish average. A series of large companies, e.g. Grontmij's and Motorola's Danish sections, along with NKT Holding and Pandora are situated in the area. Along with the surrounding municipalities, it forms the center of Copenhagen's productive industry. Glostrup Municipality has a total of 21,200 jobs in the private and public sectors combined. Glostrup Municipality
Glostrup Kommune is a suburban municipality (Danish '' kommune'') and town in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') approx. 10 km west of Copenhagen in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 13.31 km², and has a total population of 23,128 (2020). Its Zip code (''Postnummer'') is 2600. Its mayor as of 2022 is Kasper Damsgaard, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokratiet'') political party. The municipality was established in 1841 following the municipal reforms of the 1840s, ranking as a parish municipality (sognekommune) until 1950 when suburbanisation of Copenhagen inhabited the municipality and the status was changed to town municipality (købstadskommune). Glostrup Hospital
Rigshospitalet Glostrup is located in the township of Glostrup 8 km from the center of Copenhagen in Denmark. It is owned and managed by the regional health authority of the Greater Copenhagen region, Region Hovedstaden. The hospital was formerly known as Glostrup Hospital, but after the merger with Rigshospitalet 1/1/2015, it is now known as Rigshospitalet Glostrup. Niels Simonsen Glostrup
Niels Simonsen Glostrup (died 6 January 1639 in Christiania, Norway) was a Danish priest who became the seventh Lutheran Bishop of Oslo (after 1624: Christiania). Niels Glostrup was born in a small town named Glostrup near Copenhagen, where his father, Simon Jensen, was a priest. At the University of Copenhagen, he appears in 1604 as a student and in 1608 as a responder in a disputation, which was held by Professor Hans Jensen Alanus at the University. Then he went aboard. In 1609 he was in Wittenberg. In 1612 he took his Master's Degree in Copenhagen and, in the same year, became a parish pastor in Køge, Denmark. The next year, he was engaged to marry Karen Andersdatter but she left him for King Christian IV of Denmark. Niels married her sister Anna instead. The Capital Region of Denmark ( da, Region Hovedstaden, ) is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. The Capital Region has 29 municipalities and a regional council consisting of 41 elected members. As of 1 August 2021 the chairperson is Lars Gaardhøj, who is a member of the Social Democrats party of Denmark. The Capital Region was established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform. This reform abolished the traditional counties (Danish plural: , singular: ) and created five regions. Just Michael Aagaard
Just Michael Aagaard (17 July 1757 – 7 October 1819) was a Danish merchant and '' konditori''-owner in Copenhagen. He served as chair of the Council of 32 Men (later to become the Copenhagen City Council) and was director of Kjøbenhavns Brandforsikring (Copenhagen Fire Insurance). He was the father of Holger Halling Aagaard and owned Iselingen at Vordingborg from 1806. Early life Aagaard was born at the rectory in Glostrup, the son of provost Peder Andreas Aagaard and Sophie Margrethe Heerfordt. Career Aagaard moved to Copenhagen where he became a baker and also opened a grocery store. He was based at Klædeboderne 144. He later became a member of the Council of 32 Men.
