Glolarnaca Globiceps
''Glolarnaca globiceps'' is a species of Orthopterans, sometimes known as 'leaf-folding crickets' in the tribe Gryllacridini, recorded from Vietnam and Cambodia. The family Gryllacrididae has been subject to extensive revision in the 21st century, illustrated by ''G. globiceps'' having been included in at least four other genera, before the current placement of genus '' Glolarnaca'' in subfamily Gryllacridinae in 2019. Subspecies and distribution Three subspecies In biological classification, subspecies is a rank below species, used for populations that live in different areas and vary in size, shape, or other physical characteristics (morphology), but that can successfully interbreed. Heinrich Hugo Karny
Heinrich Hugo Karny (7 October 1886 – 7 August 1939) was an Austrian physician and entomologist who specialised in Thysanoptera and Orthoptera. He was a friend of Lucien Chopard and they were regular correspondents during Karny’s medical work in the Dutch East Indies. Karny was born in Mödling and died in Kroisbach. Collections Karny’s collection is shared. Parts are in the Swedish Museum of Natural History (South Europe Orthoptera), other parts are in Buitenzorg Zoological Museum ( Sumatra insects); National University of Singapore Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research (insects from Mentawai Islands –shared with Buitenzorg); Steiermärkisches Landesmuseum Joanneum Graz (Gryllacridae); Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt (Thysanoptera) and the Naturhistorisches Museum The Natural History Museum Vienna (german: Naturhistorisches Museum Wien) is a large natural history museum located in Vienna, Austria. It is one of the most important natural history museums worldwide ...

Orthoptera
Orthoptera () is an order of insects that comprises the grasshoppers, locusts, and crickets, including closely related insects, such as the bush crickets or katydids and wētā. The order is subdivided into two suborders: Caelifera – grasshoppers, locusts, and close relatives; and Ensifera – crickets and close relatives. More than 20,000 species are distributed worldwide. The insects in the order have incomplete metamorphosis, and produce sound (known as a "stridulation") by rubbing their wings against each other or their legs, the wings or legs containing rows of corrugated bumps. The tympanum, or ear, is located in the front tibia in crickets, mole crickets, and bush crickets or katydids, and on the first abdominal segment in the grasshoppers and locusts. These organisms use vibrations to locate other individuals. Grasshoppers and other orthopterans are able to fold their wings (i.e. they are members of Neoptera). Etymology The name is derived from the Greek ὀρθό ...

Tribe (biology)
In biology, a tribe is a taxonomic rank above genus, but below family and subfamily. It is sometimes subdivided into subtribes. By convention, all taxonomic ranks from genus upwards are capitalized, including both tribe and subtribe. In zoology, the standard ending for the name of a zoological tribe is "-ini". Examples include the tribes Caprini (goat-antelopes), Hominini (hominins), Bombini (bumblebees), and Thunnini (tunas). The tribe Hominini is divided into subtribes by some scientists; subtribe Hominina then comprises "humans". The standard ending for the name of a zoological subtribe is "-ina". In botany, the standard ending for the name of a botanical tribe is "-eae". Examples include the tribes Acalypheae and Hyacintheae. The tribe Hyacintheae is divided into subtribes, including the subtribe Massoniinae. The standard ending for the name of a botanical subtribe is "-inae". In bacteriology, the form of tribe names is as in botany, e.g., Pseudomonadeae, based on the ge ...

''Glolarnaca'' is a genus of Orthopterans, sometimes known as 'leaf-folding crickets' in the tribe Gryllacridini. The recorded distribution is from China, Vietnam and Cambodia. ''Glolarnaca'' was originally described as the subgenus ''Zalarnaca (Glolarnaca)'' by AV Gorochov; its elevation to genus level in subfamily Gryllacridinae has been accepted by authorities such as Cadena-Castañeda and Yang. Species such as ''G. globiceps'' (originally identified from Cambodia and Vietnam) have also been placed in other more related genera such as ''Gryllacris'' and also ''Capnogryllacris''.Gorochov AV (2003) ''Entomologicheskoe Obozrenie'' 82(3): 639. Subspecies
In biological classification, subspecies is a rank below species, used for populations that live in different areas and vary in size, shape, or other physical characteristics (morphology), but that can successfully interbreed. Not all species have subspecies, but for those that do there must be at least two. Subspecies is abbreviated subsp. or ssp. and the singular and plural forms are the same ("the subspecies is" or "the subspecies are"). In zoology, under the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, the subspecies is the only taxonomic rank below that of species that can receive a name. In botany and mycology, under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants, other infraspecific ranks, such as variety, may be named. In bacteriology and virology, under standard bacterial nomenclature and virus nomenclature, there are recommendations but not strict requirements for recognizing other important infraspecific ranks. A taxonomist decides whether ...
