Elizabeth Gomez, known as Elizabeth Le Fey also known by the stage name Globelamp is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from California, United States. Career Le Fey, who was born Elizabeth Gomez, started writing poetry at age 15, inspired by books like the Harry Potter series and old mythological legends. She would start putting music to those poems years later, once she learned to play the guitar. Her earliest music influences include Syd Barrett but as a young teen, she was inspired by the works of Conor Oberst which led her to performing on her acoustic guitar at small coffee shops in Orange County, California. At age 15 she saw Le Tigre perform in Los Angeles, which made her love feminist rock. In her early twenties, she moved to Olympia, Washington, to study at Evergreen State College. The Orange Glow
''The Orange Glow'' is the second album by Globelamp, the indie psychedelic folk project of singer-songwriter Elizabeth Le Fey. The album was reportedly written “as a reflection of the last year and a half and how hegot out of it alive.” That period included both a breakup and the death of her best friend. Music and lyrics The album explores La Fey’s own journey in a folky, ethereal musical one. With a voice that can be either ethereal or savage, shimmery as California sunshine through the leaves of redwoods, or dark as a Washington rainstorm, but always haunting, Globelamp sings of loss, longing, survival and the enchantments of nature. Wichita Recordings is an independent record label located in London, founded in 2000 by Mark Bowen and Dick Green. Its most notable signees include Bloc Party, The Cribs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Best Coast, Los Campesinos! and Peter Bjorn and John. The label signed Clap Your Hands Say Yeah for a UK distribution deal for the group's debut album. They also signed the UK producers Simian Mobile Disco for the UK. City Winery is a winery, restaurant, music venue and private event location in Hudson Square, New York City.
