David J. Glinka (born January 22, 1941) is a retired American football player. He played at the quarterback position for the University of Michigan from 1960 to 1962. Early years A native of Toledo, Ohio, Glinka attended Toledo Catholic Central High School, winning all-city and all-state honors in football. Dmitry Glinka (aviator)
Dmitry Borisovich Glinka (russian: Дмитрий Борисович Глинка; – 1 March 1979) was a Soviet flying ace during World War II who was twice awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for his achievements, having scored 50 individual aerial victories by the end of the war. His older brother, Boris Glinka, was also a flying ace and Hero of the Soviet Union. Early life Glinka was born on 12 December 1917 in the village of Aleksandrov Dar, located within present-day Kryvyi Rih. After completing only six grades of school he worked as an electrician, a miner, and at a brick factory until he completed flight training at the Kryvyi Rih aeroclub and joined the military in December 1937. In February 1939 he graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation School and was assigned to a fighter regiment based in Baku. Edward Janczewski-Glinka
Edward Janczewski (Edward Franciszek Janczewski-Glinka) (14 December 1846, Blinstrubiszki, Kovno Governorate – 17 July 1918, Kraków) was a Polish biologist ( taxonomist, anatomist, and morphologist), rector of the Jagiellonian University, and member of the Academy of Learning. He married Jadwiga Szetkiewicz (1856–1941). In 1862, Janczewski obtained a degree at Vilna (Wilno). Afterwards, he studied natural sciencies in the Jagiellonian University, and in Saint Petersburg. He became a professor of plant anatomy and physiology in 1875 at the Jagiellonian University, wherein he was rector from 1902 to 1903, and worked there until 1913. Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka (russian: Елизавета Петровна Глинка, also known as Dr. Liza (russian: Доктор Лиза); 20 February 1962 – 25 December 2016) was a Russian humanitarian worker and charity activist. She was honoured three times with state awards for her work. Glinka died in the 2016 Russian Defence Ministry Tupolev Tu-154 crash. Early life Glinka was born in Moscow. She studied at the Russian National Research Medical Institute in Moscow, graduating in pediatric anesthesiology. In 1986 she emigrated to the US, where she studied palliative care and became involved with the work of hospices. Upon return to Russia, she started working at the First Moscow Hospice, founded by Nuyta Federmesser's mother Vera Millionshikova. Biography She graduated from the Secondary High School and Secondary Music School of the first degree in Dzierżoniów. Yuliana Dmitrievna Glinka (russian: Юлиана Дмитриевна Глинка; 1844–1918) was a Russian occultist who became associated with theosophy and claims of a Jewish conspiracy. Life Glinka was born to a prominent family in Orel, Russia. Her grandfather, Colonel Fyodor Nikolaevich Glinka was investigated as a leader of "a secret society of mystics" during Prince Alexander Nikolayevich Golitsyn's investigation of masonic lodges following the Decembrist uprising of 1825.
