Glenora, also known historically as the Hudson's Bay Company's Fort Glenora and during the Cassiar Gold Rush as Glenora Landing, was an unincorporated settlement in the Stikine Country of northwestern British Columbia, Canada. It was located on the banks of the Stikine River, just southwest and approximately 13 miles downstream from the community of Telegraph Creek. A customs office existed 1901–1903. Name origin Helen B. Akrigg and G.P.V. Akrigg in their ''British Columbia Place Names'' ascribe the origin of the name to a combination of the Gaelic ''glenn'' for "valley" with the Spanish ''ora'' for gold. Glenora is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, on the southern shore of the Bay of Quinte at . The Bay of Quinte is a long narrow inlet on the northern shore of Lake Ontario. Glenora is a rural area located directly east of Picton, Ontario in the municipality of Prince Edward County. It serves as the western terminus of the Glenora Ferry, which connects the two shores between Glenora and Adolphustown as part of the Loyalist Parkway (Ontario Highway 33). The earliest ferry crossings at this point (originally named Stone Mills) were primarily local traffic from Adolphustown- Bath to the mills; these predate Asa Danforth Jr.'s 1802 extension of the pioneering Danforth Road (1801, Scarborough to the Trent River) to terminate at the Bay of Quinte. Glenora is a residential neighbourhood in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, overlooking the North Saskatchewan River valley. Glenora is bounded on the east by Groat Road, on the north by 107 Avenue, on the west by 142 Street, and on the south by the river valley and the MacKinnon Ravine. Immediately across Groat Road and to the east and north east is the neighbourhood of Westmount. To the north is the neighbourhood of North Glenora. To the north west is the neighbourhood of McQueen.
