Glenn Riley
Glenn Riley (born 29 January 1992) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for Workington Town in the Betfred Championship. He has previously played for Warrington Wolves in the Super League, and spent time on loan from Warrington at Swinton Lions in the Championship. Riley has also played for London Broncos in the Championship, and spent time on loan from the Broncos at London Skolars in League 1. He also played for Whitehaven in the second tier and in League 1, and Barrow Raiders in the Championship. Career In 2012, he was loaned to Swinton Lions from Warrington Wolves making 12 appearances. He scored no tries and struggled somewhat to secure a regular place in the starting 13. He was loaned back to Swinton Lions for 2013 where he made a greater impact, however he still made sporadic appearances for Warrington Wolves in the Super League and Challenge Cup. Whitehaven
Whitehaven is a town and port on the English north west coast and near to the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. Historically in Cumberland, it lies by road south-west of Carlisle and to the north of Barrow-in-Furness. It is the administrative seat of the Borough of Copeland, and has a town council for the parish of Whitehaven. The population of the town was 23,986 at the 2011 census. The town's growth was largely due to the exploitation of the extensive coal measures by the Lowther family, driving a growing export of coal through the harbour from the 17th century onwards. It was also a major port for trading with the American colonies, and was, after London, the second busiest port of England by tonnage from 1750 to 1772. RFL Championship
The Championship, known as the Betfred Championship for sponsorship reasons, is a professional rugby league competition. It is the Rugby Football League Championship Second Division, second-tier competition organised by the Rugby Football League, the governing body for the sport in England, and consists of 14 teams, with promotion to the Super League and relegation to the third-tier competition, RFL League 1, League One. The Leigh Leopards are a professional rugby league club based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, England, who compete in the Betfred Super League. The club was founded in 1878, and is one of the original twenty-two clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895. Leigh have been Rugby League Champions twice, in 1906 and 1982, and have won the Challenge Cup twice, in 1921 and 1971. 2017 League 1
The 2017 League 1, known as the Kingstone Press League 1 for sponsorship reasons, was a professional rugby league football competition played in England, Wales and Canada, the third tier of the sport for RFL affiliated clubs. The 2017 League 1 season was expanded to 16 teams with the first professional Canadian team Toronto Wolfpack joining the British game. The fixture list was first issued in October 2016 when the inclusion of York City Knights in the league was in doubt so the Knights were omitted from the fixture list. York's inclusion in the league was confirmed at the beginning of December and the fixture list was re-issued to include the club.
