Glenn Hoag
Glenn Hoag is a Canadian professional volleyball coach and former player. The current head coach of Arkas İzmir. Player Hoag played for the Université de Sherbrooke in his university years, before turning pro and playing overseas in Italy and France. Coaching Hoag began his coaching career in 1993 with the University of Sherbrooke. While still at the helm in Sherbrooke, he also began coaching in France, at Paris Volley. His highlight during his tenure in Paris was in 2001 when he coached the team to a Triple Crown victory, winning the French Cup, the French Championship and the European Champions Cup. In 2006, he was employed as the head coach of the Canada men's national volleyball team. Hoag led the team to a 7th-place finish in both, the World Cup and the World Championships, a bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games, Canada's first ever NORCECA Championship title, and a berth in the 2016 Summer Olympics. FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1962 they have been held every four years. The current champion is Italy, who won their fourth title at the 2022 tournament, defeating Poland in the final. The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups.
