Glenn Hicks
Glenn Ryan Hicks (born August 28, 1958) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He played 69 games in the World Hockey Association with the Winnipeg Jets during the 1978–79 season and 108 games in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings during the 1979–80 and 1980–81 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1978 to 1986, was spent in the minor leagues. Glenn is the brother of Doug Hicks Douglas Allan Hicks (born May 28, 1955) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners.
