Gleneagle is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Gleneagle had a population of 1,877 people. Geography The Logan River and the Mount Lindesay Highway pass through eastern parts of locality. Large sections of land are rural with some parts used for irrigated agriculture. A housing estate was established to the east of the highway. In the centre of Gleneagle is a large man-made dam called Lake Brabazon. History The locality takes its name from a cotton farm called ''Glen Eagles'' established in the 1860s by William Tutin Walker (1833-1920). Logan City is a local government area situated within the south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in South East Queensland, Australia. Bethania is a suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bethania had a population of 5,385 people. Geography Bethania lies south of the Logan River. The lower lying areas near the river occasionally suffer floods. Bethania is situated on the main Beenleigh railway line and the suburb is served by Bethania railway station (). Beaudesert Railway Line
The Beaudesert railway line (also known as the Upper Logan railway line) is a disused branch railway in South East Queensland, Australia. The first section opened in 1885, the line was completed in 1888 and operated as a Queensland Government Railways (QGR) line until 1996 (Passenger service ceased in 1961). A heritage operation was undertaken for a short period in 2003. The Canungra railway line connected at Logan Village between 1915 and 1955, and the Beaudesert Shire Tramway connected with the terminal between 1903 and 1944. A study was undertaken in 2010 by the Queensland government concerning a potential Salisbury-to-Beaudesert rail corridor as a long-term potential proposal. Waterford West is a suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Waterford West had a population of 6,431 people. Geography The eastern boundary and part of the southern boundary follow the course of the Logan River. The suburb is home to Marsden State High School in the west. It has a shopping centre called Waterford Plaza close to a road bridge across the Logan. Around this area the main roads, Kingston Road and Loganlea Road intersect. James Duhig
Sir James Duhig KCMG (2 September 187110 April 1965) was an Irish-born Australian Roman Catholic religious leader. He was the Archbishop of Brisbane for 48 years from 1917 until his death in 1965. At the time of his death he was the longest-serving bishop in the Catholic Church (1905–1965). Early years Duhig was born in Broadford, County Limerick but emigrated with his family to Australia as a young boy. He completed his education at St. Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, Queensland. Alfonso Bernard O'Reilly (3 September 1903 – 20 January 1975) was an Australian writer and bushman of Irish descent. He was born and raised in Hartley in the Blue Mountains, about north-west of Sydney and later moved to the McPherson Range near Beaudesert in South East Queensland, Australia. He is part of the family that established the O'Reilly's Guesthouse in the Lamington Plateau. On 20 August 1931 Bernard O'Reilly married Viola Gwendoline King in Brisbane. They had a daughter, Rhelma. Plane crash rescue O'Reilly is best known for the discovery of the 1937 crash site in Lamington National Park of a Stinson Model A airplane, the ''VH-UHH Brisbane'', and the organization of rescue crews that retrieved two survivors. The ''Beaudesert Times'' is a newspaper published in Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia. History The newspaper was a result of the merger of two existing newspapers, The Beaudesert Despatch and Logan and Albert Leader and The Beaudesert Herald with politician Patrick James Leahy holding the controlling interest. John Adamson Walker and F. Parker had formerly run the Herald and they became manager and editor respectively of the new paper. After Parker left, Walker became the managing editor. A ceiling is an overhead interior surface that covers the upper limits of a room. It is not generally considered a structural element, but a finished surface concealing the underside of the roof structure or the floor of a story above.
