Glen Shields SC
The Glen Shields Sun Devils were a soccer team which played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League from 1998–2002. They played their home matches in Thornhill, Ontario. The franchise was one of the original teams of the CPSL. Originally founded as a youth soccer club, the youth club still continues to operate, now known as Glen Shields FC. The team was founded in 1982 and was originally known as Glen Shields Soccer Club. During its five-year stint in the CPSL the club qualified for the playoffs three times and reached the semi-finals each occasion. After the 2002 season, Glen Shields (then known as Vaughan Sun Devils) merged with the original York Region Shooters to form a new team, also named the York Region Shooters. York Region Shooters
York Region Shooters is a Canadian soccer team, that plays in the Canadian Soccer League. The Shooters played their home games at the St. Joan of Arc Turf Field in the City of Vaughan, Ontario. The team's colours were blue and white, mirroring those of the Italy national football team and reflecting the cultural heritage of the club. The club had also competed under various different names as Vaughan Sun Devils, Vaughan Shooters, Italia Shooters, and finally as York Region Shooters. They were formed in 2003 as the merger of two rival clubs in York Region: the Glen Shields Sun Devils and the original York Region Shooters. The Canadian Soccer League (CSL; french: Ligue canadienne de soccer — LCS) is a semi-professional league for Canadian soccer clubs primarily located in the province of Ontario, and claims the history of the Canadian National Soccer League (CNSL). Pat Sullivan (soccer)
Pat Sullivan (born March 20, 1971) is a Canadian former soccer player who played in the Canadian Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League, and the Canadian Professional Soccer League. Playing career Sullivan began his career in 1991, in the Canadian Soccer League with Nova Scotia Clippers. In 1992 he was a member of the North York Rockets. After the demise of the CSL he signed with the Toronto Rockets of the American Professional Soccer League. He made his debut for the club on July 8, 1994 in a match against the Seattle Sounders. Robert Irvine (born September 5, 1974) is an English born Canadian former soccer player and soccer coach. Playing career Irvine played in 1998 with Albany Alleycats in the USISL D-3 Pro League. Willy Giummarra (born August 26, 1971) is a Canadian former soccer player who played as a forward and midfielder. Most recently, he was the head coach of Canadian Soccer League side Toronto Falcons. Career College career Giummarra began playing at the college level in 1994 with the UAB Blazers where in his debut season was named the newcomer of the year and first-team selection.
