Gleb Savinov
Gleb Savinov (russian: Гле́б Алекса́ндрович Сави́нов; September 27, 1915, Natalievka, Kharkov Governorate, Russian Empire – November 5, 2000, Saint Petersburg, Russia) was a Soviet, Russian painter and art teacher, Honored Artist of Russian Federation, who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was regarded as one of the leading representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his genre and portrait painting. Biography Gleb Alexandrovich Savinov was born September 27, 1915 in Natalievka village, Kharkov Governorate, Russian Empire (present-day Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine). Savinov's childhood was spent in Saratov, on the Volga River. Alexander Alexandrovich Osmerkin (; - June 25, 1953) was a Russian painter, graphic artist, stage designer, and art teacher. He was a member of the Knave of Diamonds avant-garde group, AKhRR, and ''Society of Moscow Artists'' (OMKh) groups. Since 1932 he was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. Pavel Varfolomevich Kuznetsov (1878–1968) was a Russian painter and graphic artist. Life and career He studied at Saratov at Bogolyubov Art School (1891–1896), then Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1897–1904) and for a year in Paris (1905). His early paintings were exhibited by the Mir Iskusstva group, and he was closely associated with the Russian Symbolists. He helped to organize the Crimson Rose exhibition (1904) and was a founder and leader of the Blue Rose in 1907. He taught at the Stroganov Institute (1917–18; 1945-8) and at the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts (1918–37).
