2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 23rd season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters competed for medals in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points. The top six from each discipline qualified for the 2019–20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final, which was held together with the senior final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. Kirill Aleshin
Kirill Pavlovich Aleshin (russian: Кирилл Павлович Алёшин; born 24 April 1997) is a Russian retired ice dancer. With his former skating partner, Anastasia Skoptsova, he was the 2020 Rostelecom Cup bronze medalist, 2018 CS Tallinn Trophy silver medalist, and 2021 Russian national bronze medalist. Earlier in their career, they won gold at the 2018 World Junior Championships and 2017 Junior Grand Prix Final, as well as bronze at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics. Early life Kirill Pavlovich Aleshin was born on 24 April 1997 in Omsk, Russia. Career Early years Aleshin began learning to skate in 2004. As a child, he was taught by Tatiana Odinokova in Omsk. ISU Junior Grand Prix Final
The ISU Junior Grand Prix Final or JGP Final (titled the ISU Junior Series Final in the 1997–98 season) is the culmination of a series of junior-level competitions – the ISU Junior Grand Prix organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event. At the end of the series, the six highest-placing skaters from each discipline advance to the JGP Final. Denis Ten Memorial Challenge
The Denis Ten Memorial Challenge is an annual senior and junior-level figure skating competition series in Almaty or Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, organized by the Denis Ten Foundation. Named in honor of 2014 Olympic bronze medalist Denis Ten, the competition was first held in 2019. The competition is scheduled to be part of the ISU Challenger Series. Ice Challenge
The Icechallenge (formerly known as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen or Leo Scheu Memorial) is an annual international figure skating competition organized by the Grazer Eislaufverein and sanctioned by the Austrian Figure Skating association and the International Skating Union. The event is usually held every autumn in Graz, Austria. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. In 2014 and 2015, the Ice Challenge's senior events were part of the ISU Challenger Series. In 2021, the Icechallenge returned to the ISU Challenger Series under the name Cup of Austria. History The event began in 1971 as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen (Leo Scheu Memorial). It was re-titled the Icechallenge in 2008. The name Leo Scheu Memorial was retained for a junior, novice, and lower-level competition that is held in conjunction with the senior event. 2022–23 Figure Skating Season
The 2022–23 figure skating season began on July 1, 2022 and will end on June 30, 2023. During this season, elite skaters will compete on the ISU Championship level at the 2023 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. They will also compete at elite events such as the Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final, and the ISU Challenger Series. 2021–22 Figure Skating Season
The 2021–22 figure skating season began on July 1, 2021 and ended on June 30, 2022. During this season, elite skaters competed on the ISU Championship level at the 2022 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships, as well as at the 2022 Winter Olympics. They also competed at elite events such as the Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix series, and the ISU Challenger Series. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grand Prix Final was cancelled, while parts of the Junior Grand Prix, Grand Prix, and Challenger Series were not held as scheduled. Among the ISU Championships events, the Four Continents Championships were relocated, and the World Junior Championships were postponed and relocated.
