Gladiators (UK Series 10)
The second series of Gladiators started in December 2008 with a Legends Special. The series aired on Sky1 and Sky1 HD. Many changes were made from the first series, including six new Gladiators - Cyclone (returning from series one), Siren, Amazon, Warrior, Goliath and Doom. Three more games were added to the event pool - Pursuit & Suspension Bridge, which were seen in the ITV version of the show, and Rocketball. Ian Wright returned as presenter with Caroline Flack, who replaced Kirsty Gallacher. Taking over from original referee John Anderson (due to his retirement from TV refereeing) was boxing referee John Coyle. Gladiators Events Three new events were added to the pool for the second series. Suspension Bridge and Pursuit returned from the original series. Suspension Bridge is now played over water and the Pursuit course also contains a water element. The only new event was Rocketball, a modified version of Swingshot from the original series. Gladiators (2008 British TV Series)
''Gladiators'' is a British television series which aired on Sky One (now Sky Max) from 11 May 2008 to 25 October 2009. It was a revival of the earlier series of the same name and based on the American version of the show. The US, UK and Australian versions of the show were all revived in 2008. For the first series, the show was hosted by Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher with original Referee John Anderson returning. For the second series Ian Wright was joined by Caroline Flack due to Kirsty Gallacher not wanting to return. Another change was the removal of John Anderson due to the producers wanting to give the show its own feel and cut ties with the original series. He was replaced by well known boxing referee John Coyle for series two. The winners of the series each earned £50,000. Roderick Bradley
Rod Bradley (born 29 March 1983) is an English player of American football, as well an artist and entrepreneur. Education Roderick Bradley was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire in 1983. He attended Oakham School between 1994 and 2001 before going to Loughborough to study art. He graduated in 2004 with a degree in illustration from the school of art and design. He was found to be dyslexic at an early age, causing him trouble academically in school. He became interested in design and spent much of his time drawing in exercise books. Sporting career Eventually Rod started to play American football. He excelled and became the Great Britain youth champion in less than a year. In the European championships he suffered a seemingly career-ending injury to his knee, leaving his lower leg almost detached from the upper after ligament tears. ''Rocketball'' is a sports-action Commodore 64 computer game released by IJK Software in 1985. Rocketball was coded by John Sinclair and has music by L Pilling. ''Rocketball'' is based on the futuristic sports movie '' Rollerball'', released in 1975, starring James Caan. ''Rocketballs taglines were, "The rules are, there are no rules", and "This was never meant to be a game." A suspension bridge is a type of bridge in which the deck (bridge), deck is hung below suspension wire rope, cables on vertical suspenders. David McIntosh (Gladiators)
David McIntosh (born 10 December 1985) is a British ex-military and security operative who became a television personality, actor, and fitness model. A former Royal Marines commando, he was a Gladiator on the Sky 1 TV series '' Gladiators'', under the name Tornado. In 2014, he participated in ''Celebrity Big Brother 14''. Career Born to a British mother and Jamaican father, McIntosh grew up in Platt Bridge, near Wigan. He went to Holy Family Primary School in Platt Bridge and then St Edmund Arrowsmith high school in Ashton in Makerfield. Amy Guy (born 21 December 1983) is a Welsh beauty queen, television performer and athlete.
