Gjøvik Station ( no, Gjøvik stasjon) is a railway station located in downtown Gjøvik in Oppland Norway. The station is the terminus of the Gjøvik Line. It is located 123.83 km from Oslo Central Station and at 129.2 meters above sea level. Gjøvik is served by regional trains by Vy Gjøvikbanen, a subsidiary of Vy. History The station was opened 28 November 1902. The station building was designed by the railroad architect Paul Armin Due. It was built in a tiled brick. It was expanded in 1937 and 1952. NMT has its operating base at Hønefoss Station in Ringerike, Norway. The society was founded on 22 May 1969, and is based at Bryn Station in Oslo, but with local groups all over the country. It publishes the magazine ''På Sporet'' four times a year, as well as publishing numerous books. The club also operates two heritage railways, the Old Voss Line in Bergen, and the Krøder Line. Oppland
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county.
