Mateh Yehuda Regional Council
Mateh Yehuda Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית מטה יהודה, ''Mo'atza Azorit Mateh Yehuda'', ar, مجلس إقليمي ماتيه يهودا ) is a regional council in the Jerusalem District of Israel. In 2008 it was home to 36,200 people. The name of the regional council stems from the fact that its territory was part of the land allotted to the Tribe of Judah, according to the Bible. Walid Khalidi ( ar, وليد خالدي, born 1925 in Jerusalem) is an Oxford University-educated Palestinian people, Palestinian historian who has written extensively on the 1948 Palestinian exodus, Palestinian exodus. Dayr Rafat
Dayr Rafat was a Palestinian Arab village in the Jerusalem Subdistrict. It was located 26 km west of Jerusalem. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War by the Harel Brigade. History In 1883, the PEF's ''Survey of Western Palestine'' described Dayr Rafat as a small hamlet situated on a ridge with a spring to the west. British Mandate era In the 1931 census, there were 218 people living in Dayr Rafat.
