Givat Asaf
Giv'at Asaf ( he, גִּבְעַת אָסָף, , Asaf Hill) is an Israeli outpost in the West Bank. Located from the settlement of Beit El, it falls under the jurisdiction of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. It has about 30 structures and is home to some 30 families. It was established in May 2001 after the murder of Asaf Hershkovitz, a resident of Ofra, for whom it was named. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, whereas Israeli outposts are considered illegal both under international law as well as under Israeli law. According to the 2005 Sasson Report, Giv'at Asaf was built on privately owned Palestinian land, and is therefore also illegal under Israeli law. Amira Hass ( he, עמירה הס; born 28 June 1956) is an Israeli journalist and author, mostly known for her columns in the daily newspaper ''Haaretz'' covering Palestinian affairs in the West Bank and Gaza, where she has lived for almost thirty years. Biography The daughter of two Holocaust survivors, Hass is the only child of a Bosnian-born Sephardic Jewish mother, who survived nine months in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, and a Romanian-born Ashkenazi Jewish father. Beitin
Beitin ( ar, بيتين ') is a Palestinian village in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate in the central West Bank, located northeast of Ramallah along the Ramallah-Nablus road. The Palestinian village of Dura al-Qar' and Ein Yabrud lie to the north, Rammun to the east, Deir Dibwan to the southeast and al-Bireh to the southwest. Burqa, Ramallah
Burqa ( ar, بُرقة) is a Palestinian town in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate of the State of Palestine, located east of Ramallah in the northern West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the town had a population of approximately 2,090 inhabitants in the 2007 census. Mamilla Cemetery
Ma'aman Allah (Mamilla) Cemetery ( ar, مقبرة مأمن الله) is a historic Islam, Muslim cemetery in West Jerusalem that dates back to the Crusades, and lies just to the west of the north-west corner of the walls of the Old City (Jerusalem), Old City of Jerusalem, near the New Gate. The cemetery, at the center of which lies the Mamilla Pool, contains the remains of figures from the early Islamic period, several Sufi shrines and Mamluk Sultanate (Cairo), Mamluk-era tombs.
