''Il Giustino'' ''RV 717'' is a 1724 opera by Vivaldi set to a libretto by Nicolò Beregan, also set by Albinoni and Handel. The opera was composed for the 1724 carnival season in Rome and premiered at the Teatro Capranica. Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti, also known as Domingo or Doménico Scarlatti (26 October 1685-23 July 1757), was an Italian composer. '' Il Giustino'' is an opera in three acts by composer Giovanni Legrenzi. The work uses an Italian language libretto by Nicolò Beregan based on the life of Emperor Justin I. The church of San Giustino is a church in Rome, in the neighborhood of Alexandria, in Alexandria Avenue. History The building of the parish church was erected, designed by architect Francesco Fornari, June 10, 1952 with the decree of the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara "To care vigilant" and was inaugurated by the 29 May 1953. Giovanni Giustino Ciampini (born Rome, 1633; died there 1698) was an ecclesiastical archaeologist. Biography He graduated from the University of Macerata as a student of law but soon devoted himself to archaeological interests, which an important office (Magister brevium gratiæ) in the Apostolic Chancery permitted him to pursue. He devoted himself to the collection of books, coins, and statues, and to the creation of scientific circles for the development of antiquarian learning; thus he founded, in 1671, a society for ecclesiastical history and, in 1679, an academy of the sciences, the latter under the patronage of his friend, Queen Christina of Sweden. He continued the school of archaeological research begun by Onofrio Panvinio and Antonio Bosio, and carried on a smaller scale by Fabretti, Boldetti, and Bottari, and later Padre Alarchi and Giovanni Battista de Rossi. Giustino Menescardi (1720–1776) was an Italian painter and scenic designer, active in Northern Italy and Venice in a late Baroque style. Biography Little is known about his training. His works appear to display the influence of Tiepolo. In the Carnavals of 1756 and 1757, he collaborated with Francesco Grassi in the scenography for the Teatro Ducale and in the commedie francesi being enacted in the Theater of Colorno. On the 28 of January he was paid 704 lire for his work as a scenographer in the French opera ''Zelindor e Gl'Inca in Perù'', the work ''il balli de Selvaggi'', and the work ''Aci e Galatea''. Giustino Fortunato (4 September 1848 – 23 July 1932) was an Italian historian and politician. Biography He was born in Rionero in Vulture (Basilicata), from a bourgeois family. His great-uncle Giustino Fortunato (1777-1862) was the prime minister of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies from 1849 to 1852. Fortunato studied at the Jesuit College and then studied law at the university in Naples. After the degree, he founded the journals ''Unità Nazionale'' and ''Patria''. In May 1880, he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies.
