Giuseppe Molinari
Giuseppe Molinari (born 11 January 1938 in Scoppito, L'Aquila Province) is an Italian Catholic bishop, who served as Archbishop of L'Aquila. Born in Scoppito, he was ordained to the priesthood on 29 June 1962. On 30 September 1989 he was appointed Bishop of Rieti by Pope John Paul II. He received his episcopal consecration on the following December 8 from Archbishop Mario Peressin, assisted by Bishop Francesco Amadio and Archbishop Cleto Bellucci as co-consecrators. Bishop Molinari was later named Coadjutor Archbishop of L'Aquila on 16 March 1996. He succeeded Archbishop Peressin as Archbishop of L'Aquila upon the latter's resignation on 6 June 1998. Archbishop Molinari took an active role in dealing with the aftermath of the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake disaster and has also been involved in the reconstruction process. The Most Reverend
The Most Reverend is a style applied to certain religious figures, primarily within the historic denominations of Christianity, but occasionally in some more modern traditions also. It is a variant of the more common style "The Reverend". A consecrator is a bishop who ordains someone to the episcopacy. A co-consecrator is someone who assists the consecrator bishop in the act of ordaining a new bishop. Delio Lucarelli
Delio Lucarelli (24 November 1939 – 29 January 2024) was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate. He served as bishop of Rieti from 1997 to 2015. Early life and ordination Lucarelli was born in Fano, an episcopal seat in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, on 24 November 1939. He studied at the Pontifical Marche Regional Seminary "Pio XI" in Fano. On 29 June 1965, Lucarelli was ordained a priest by Bishop Vincenzo Del Signore. After ordination he carried out his pastoral work as parochial vicar in Lucrezia, where he remained from 1965 to 1967, and San Michele al Fiume, a hamlet of Mondavio, from 1967 to 1970. In that year he was appointed educator and animator at the regional seminary of Fano, where he then held the position of pro-rector and subsequently rector, from 1972 to 1988. Giuseppe Petrocchi (born 19 August 1948) is an Italian Roman Catholic prelate who has served as the Archbishop of L'Aquila since 2013. Pope Francis made him a cardinal on 28 June 2018. Life Giuseppe Petrocchi was born on 19 August 1948 in Ascoli Piceno. Petrocchi commenced his ecclesial studies in his home diocese on 4 October 1965 where he finished his high school education before being sent to the Pontifico Seminario Romano Maggiore in September 1967. He completed his studies at the Lateran where he obtained a bachelor's degree before pursuing further studies at Sapienza University of Rome and at the University of Macerata. He was ordained to the priesthood on 14 September 1973 in the church of San Pietro Martire and began work as a teacher and pastor. 2009 L'Aquila Earthquake
The 2009 L'Aquila earthquake occurred in the region of Abruzzo, in central Italy. The main shock occurred at 03:32 CEST (01:32 UTC) on 6 April 2009, and was rated 5.8 or 5.9 on the Richter magnitude scale and 6.3 on the moment magnitude scale; its epicentre was near L'Aquila, the capital of Abruzzo, which together with surrounding villages suffered the most damage. There have been several thousand foreshocks and aftershocks since December 2008, more than thirty of which had a Richter magnitude greater than 3.5. The earthquake was felt throughout central Italy; 308 people are known to have died, making this the deadliest earthquake to hit Italy since the 1980 Irpinia earthquake.
