Gitta Walther
Gitta Walther was a German singer and author. She released many recordings under the pseudonyms Simone, Jackie Robinson and also Gitta McKay after her marriage to Scottish musician Don McKay. Life Gitta Walter was born as the daughter of a baker during World War II and grew up in East Germany after the war. There, she first appeared on stage as a singer at the age of 14. At the age of 16, she emigrated to West Germany. Once in Munich, West Germany, she was discovered by Werner Müller who accepted her into his orchestra. She went on to also sing in the orchestra of Ambros Seelos and Arno Flor. Since the mid-1960s, she was an active guest, studio and background singer for numerous bands and acts. In 1969, she joined Love Generation, where she met her future husband — Don Adams. She was later one of the session singers of the 1970s Silver Convention disco group. Annaberg-Buchholz () is a town in Saxony, Germany. Lying in the Ore Mountains, it is the capital of the district of Erzgebirgskreis. Geography The town is located in the Ore Mountains, at the side of the ''Pöhlberg'' ( above sea level). History The previously heavily forested upper Ore Mountains were settled in the 12th and 13th centuries by Franconian farmers. Jackie Carter (musician)
Jacqueline Nemorin (known professionally as Jackie Carter and Né-Mo-Rin) is a Mauritian-born British musician, composer and producer. She was one of the voices and members of the 1970s Silver Convention project. Life Jacqueline Nemorin was born to a pianist (her father) and a dancer (her mother) and later moved to London, England with her family. In the 1970s she moved to Germany, where she took on the pseudonym "Jackie Carter". As a member of the Veit Marvos Red Point Orchestra from 1972 to 1974, she performed on stage with the then-unknown Donna Summer. In addition, she began to work as a guest and studio singer for various artists. In 1974, she was chosen to sing in Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay's Silver Convention, which would go on to be successful worldwide with their disco songs Fly, Robin, Fly and Get Up and Boogie. Lucy Neale (also known as Lucy O'Day) is an American-German artist, notable for being one of the vocalists of the 1970s Silver Convention disco group. Life and career Neale was born January 24, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating college, Neale traveled to Munich, West Germany to play part in the musical '' Hair''. She later released her first single in Germany, "Nur Beim Träumen ( Sad Sweet Dreamer) / Komm Heim Zu Mir". Later that year in 1974, she was hired by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay to take part in the studio recording of Silver Convention as a vocalist. Joy Fleming (born Erna Raad, 15 November 1944 – 27 September 2017) was a German singer. She is best known for her performance in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975. She performed the song " Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein" and was placed seventeenth out of nineteen countries. Despite its relatively low placing, the song has become popular amongst many Eurovision fans. She had a hit Disco record with the song and album "The Final Thing" in 1978 on Atlantic Records in the U.S. This was a covered song by the original artist Steve Bender (a member of the German Disco Group Dschinghis Khan) who also did the first version in 1976. She made a further Eurovision bid in 1986, participating in the German national contest with the song "Miteinander".
