Giselle Juarez (softball)
Giselle "G" Juarez (born March 23, 1998) is an American, former collegiate All-American softball pitcher. She played college softball at Oklahoma and Arizona State. Early life Juarez attended Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona, where she finished her career with a 1.78 earned run average (ERA), 371 strikeouts and a .168 opponent batting average. She led her team to back-to-back state championship appearances in 2014 and 2015, including Mountain Ridge's first state championship appearance in 2014. She was ranked No. 45 by FloSoftball in the 2016 class. College career Freshman year Juarez began her collegiate career at Arizona State. As a freshman, she recorded a 2.79 ERA in innings, with 81 strikeouts, and 30 walks. She recorded a season-best 11 strikeouts against Illinois State on February 17, 2017. 2019 UCLA Bruins Softball Team
The 2019 UCLA Bruins softball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 2019 college softball season. The Bruins were coached by Kelly Inouye-Perez, in her thirteenth season. The Bruins played their home games at Easton Stadium and finished with a record of 56–6. They competed in the Pac-12 Conference, where they finished tied for first with a 20–4 record. The Bruins were invited to the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament, where they swept the Los Angeles Regional and Super Regional and then completed a run through the Women's College World Series to claim their eleventh Women's College World Series Championship. The Bruins had earlier claimed an AIAW title in 1978 and NCAA titles in 1982, 1984, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2004, and 2010. The 1995 championship was vacated by the NCAA. 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 31 to June 4, 2019, as the final part of the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. Paige Nicole Parker (born January 24, 1996) is an American, former collegiate four-time All-American, professional softball pitcher and current assistant head coach at Utah. She played college softball at Oklahoma, and won back-to-back National Championships with the Sooners in 2016 and 2017. Parker is a career record holder for perfect games (4) for the school and also ranks top-10 in the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA Division I for the same category. The Iowa State Cyclones softball team represents Iowa State University (ISU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. The team is coached by Jamie Pinkerton, he is in his 5th year at Iowa State. The Cyclones play their home games at the Cyclone Sports Complex on Iowa State's campus. History The Cyclones had put together a women's softball team by 1971 and appeared in two of the early AIAW Women's College World Series in 1971 and 1973. ''OU Daily'', formally known as The Oklahoma Daily, is the independent, student-produced newspaper at the University of Oklahoma, with a circulation of 6,000. Though it maintains a connection with OU's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the newspaper is not a part of required learning for journalism students at OU. Perfect Game (baseball)
In baseball, a perfect game is a game in which one or more pitchers complete a minimum of nine innings with no batter from the opposing team reaching any base. To achieve a perfect game, a team must not allow any opposing player to reach base by any means: no hits, walks, hit batsmen, uncaught third strikes, catcher's or fielder's interference, or fielding errors; in short, "27 up, 27 down" (for a nine-inning game).
