Girona Futbol Club "B" is a List of football clubs in Spain, Spanish football team based in Girona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia. The reserve team of Girona FC was founded in 2011, and plays in Tercera División RFEF, Tercera División RFEF – Group 5, holding home matches at ''Camp Municipal Torres de Palau''. History Founded in the 2011 summer as ''Girona B'', the club had his registration denied by Catalan Football Federation, FCF in his first season, and was inscribed in ''Segona Catalana'' in 2012–13. In his first senior season, Girona B achieved promotion to ''Primera Catalana'', after defeating CE El Cattlar. In 2016, after an agreement between Girona and CF Peralada was established, Girona B was demoted as the club's "C-team". This new status was formalised on 23 July 2017, when the club was renamed Girona C as a result of CF Peralada-Girona B, CF Peralada's members approving a name change to ''CF Peralada-Girona B''. Girona (officially and in Catalan language, Catalan , Spanish: ''Gerona'' ) is a city in northern Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter River, Ter, Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers. The city had an official population of 103,369 in 2020. Girona is the capital of the province of Girona, province of the same name and also capital of the ''Comarques of Catalonia, comarca'' of the Gironès and the vegueria of Girona. Since much of the old quarter of this ancient city has been preserved, Girona is a popular destination for tourists, and film productions have used it as a filming location (e.g. ''Game of Thrones''). The city is located northeast of Barcelona. History The first historical inhabitants in the region were Iberians; Girona is the ancient Gerunda, a city of the Ausetani.
