Giro Della Liguria
The Giro della Liguria was an annual multi-day road cycling race that took place in the region of Liguria, Italy. The race was founded in 2001 as the Giro Riviera Ligure Ponente, and changed names in 2003. In 2005, it was supposed to be a 2.1 event in the inaugural edition of the UCI Europe Tour The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Liguria (; lij, Ligûria ; french: Ligurie) is a Regions of Italy, region of north-western Italy; its Capital city, capital is Genoa. Its territory is crossed by the Alps and the Apennine Mountains, Apennines Mountain chain, mountain range and is roughly coextensive with the former territory of the Republic of Genoa. Liguria is bordered by France (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) to the west, Piedmont to the north, and Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany to the east. Danilo Di Luca
Danilo Di Luca (born 2 January 1976) is a former Italian professional road racing cyclist, best known for winning the 2007 Giro d'Italia, but also for several positive doping tests, the last of which resulting in a lifetime ban from the sport. Di Luca is also one of six riders to have won each of the three Ardennes classics; he won the Amstel Gold Race and La Flèche Wallonne in 2005, and Liège–Bastogne–Liège in 2007. During his career, Di Luca rode for the Riso Scotti, , , , , , and squads. Di Luca's career was also dogged by numerous infractions, involving three suspensions in relation to doping. Fred Rodriguez
Fred "Freddie" Rodriguez (born September 3, 1973) is an American former professional road racing cyclist. His nickname, ''Fast Freddie'', is due to his reputation as a sprint specialist. Rodriguez won the United States National Road Race Championships four times, and won four stages at the Tour de Georgia. He competed in the men's individual road race at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Other notable results include high stage finishes in all three Grand Tours as well as second places in both in both Milan–San Remo and Gent–Wevelgem in 2002. Rodriguez participated in all three Grand Tours including the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España one time each where he had multiple stage podiums in the Vuelta and won stage 9 of the 2004 Giro d'Italia. He started the Tour de France seven times finishing it twice, and while he never won any stages he was often competitive on sprint stages with several top 5's. Wladimir Belli
Wladimir Belli (born 25 July 1970, in Sorengo) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer. He was a professional between 1992 and 2007. In the 2001 Giro d'Italia, Belli was sitting in third place overall entering the 14th stage of the race. After being verbally abused by a spectator, who later turned out to be a nephew of race leader Gilberto Simoni, Belli hit the man, an act for which he was disqualified from the race.
