Luscious Jackson
Luscious Jackson is an alternative rock/ rap-rock group formed in 1991. The band's name is a reference to former American basketball player Lucious Jackson. The original band consisted of Jill Cunniff (vocals, bass), Gabby Glaser (vocals, guitar), and Vivian Trimble (keyboards, vocals). Drummer Kate Schellenbach joined the band midway through the recording of their 1992 debut EP ''In Search of Manny''. Between 1993 and 2000, the band released one EP, three full-length LPs, and ten singles on the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal label. Their biggest hit—and only ''Billboard'' Hot 100 entry—was "Naked Eye". Other singles include "Here," "Daughters of the Kaos", "Citysong", "Under Your Skin" and " Ladyfingers". Lolita Shante Gooden (born March 8, 1970), better known by her stage name Roxanne Shante, is an American rapper. Born and raised in the Queensbridge Projects of Queens, New York City, Shante first gained attention through the Roxanne Wars and was part of the Juice Crew. The 2017 film, ''Roxanne Roxanne'', is a dramatization of Shante's life. Early life and career Shante was born March 8, 1970 and in 1984, the young rapper ran into Bruce Bailey and Billy Beaver, DJ Mr. Magic, and record agent Marley Marl outside the Queensbridge housing project. PJ Harvey
Polly Jean Harvey (born 9 October 1969) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Primarily known as a vocalist and guitarist, she is also proficient with a wide range of instruments. Harvey began her career in 1988 when she joined local band Automatic Dlamini as a vocalist, guitarist and saxophonist. The band's frontman, John Parish, became her long-term collaborator. Lamb (electronic Band)
Lamb are an English electronic music duo from Manchester, whose music is influenced by trip hop, drum and bass and jazz. The duo consist of producer Andy Barlow and singer-songwriter Lou Rhodes. They achieved commercial success with the hit singles " Górecki" and "Gabriel". Biography On the basis of three songs, Barlow and Rhodes signed a six-album deal with Mercury Records in 1995.
