''Girls'' is the second extended play by South Korean girl group Aespa. The EP was released through SM Entertainment and Warner Records on July 8, 2022. It consists of six tracks and was preceded by the promotional single "Illusion (Aespa song), Illusion", and two official singles: "Life's Too Short (Aespa song), Life's Too Short" (English version) and "Girls (Aespa song), Girls". The digital version also adds the group's previously released singles "Black Mamba (song), Black Mamba", "Forever (Aespa song), Forever", and "Dreams Come True (Aespa song), Dreams Come True". ''Girls'' was a commercial success and debuted at number one on South Korea's Circle Album Chart with 1,426,487 copies sold in the first week of release, marking Aespa's second number-one album on the chart and their highest-selling album to date. Aespa ( ; , commonly stylized in all lowercase or æspa) is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment. The group consists of four members: Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. They debuted on November 17, 2020, with the single " Black Mamba". Name The group's name, Aespa, combines the English initials of "avatar" and "experience" (Avatar X Experience) with the English word "aspect", meaning "two sides", to symbolize the idea of "meeting another self and experiencing the new world". Career 2016–2019: Pre-debut activities Ningning was introduced as a member of pre-debut training team SM Rookies on September 19, 2016.
