''Girls'' is a 1919 American silent romantic comedy directed by Walter Edwards and starring Marguerite Clark. It is based on the 1909 Broadway play of the same name by Clyde Fitch starring Florence Reed in the part Clark plays in this film. No prints of the film are known to exist and ''Girls'' is now presumed to be a lost film. A film still (sometimes called a publicity still or a production still) is a photograph, taken on or off the set of a movie or television program during production. These photographs are also taken in formal studio settings and venues of opportunity such as film stars' homes, film debut events, and commercial settings. The photos were taken by studio photographers for promotional purposes. Such stills consisted of posed portraits, used for public display or free fan handouts, which are sometimes autographed. Harrison Ford (silent Film Actor)
Harrison Ford (March 16, 1884 – December 2, 1957) was an American silent film actor. He was a leading Broadway theater performer and a star of the silent film era. Career Born in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Anna and Walter, Ford began his acting career on the stage. He made his Broadway debut in 1904 in Richard Harding Davis's ''Ranson's Folly''. He went on to appear in productions of William C. deMille's ''Strongheart''; ''Glorious Betsy'' by Rida Johnson Young (the production lasted only 24 performances but the play was later adapted for an Oscar-nominated film of the same name); Bayard Veiller's ''The Fight'' (which quickly closed); Edgar Wallace's ''The Switchboard''; Edward Locke's ''The Bubble''; and Edgar Selwyn's ''Rolling Stones''. Arthur Edmund Carewe (December 30, 1884 – April 22, 1937), born Hovsep Hovsepian ( hy, Հովսեփ Հովսեփյան), was an Armenian-American stage and film actor of the silent and early sound film era. Early life Born on December 30, 1884 in Trabzon (Trebizond), Ottoman Empire, Carewe was from a prosperous Armenian family in his native country. His father, Garo, was engaged in the banking business and carried some influence from his positions in the national legislature and board of education. His father died in 1892, and the Hamidian massacres forced the Hovsepian family to emigrate. Carewe emigrated to the United States on August 7, 1896, arriving in New York Harbor on the ''Augusta Victoria'', having departed from Cherbourg. He was accompanied by his elder brother, Ardasches.
