Girls' Generation ( Hangul: 소녀시대; RR: ''Sonyeo Sidae'') is a Korean song sung by several artists. The song was originally sung by Lee Seung-chul in 1989, released on his self-titled album ''Lee Seung-chul: Part 2'' ( Korean: 이승철 1집 Part 2). It was covered by Maya in 2005 and girl group Girls' Generation in 2007, whose band name is derived from the song's. Gil Hak-mi also performed the song at Superstar K in 2009 and it was released on '' Love'' which contains songs by the first Superstar K Top 10. Girls' Generation version "Girls' Generation", written and produced by Lee Seung-Chul and Song Jae Jun, was released on November 1, 2007. It was the lead single for the group's debut album, ''Girls' Generation''. The music video for "Girls' Generation" was released on November 1. Lee Seung-chul (; born December 5, 1966) is a South Korean singer best known for the hit songs, "My Love", "Never Ending Story", and "Girls' Generation". Currently an artist of Kakao Entertainment's label Flex M, he debuted in 1985 as the vocalist of the rock band Boohwal, which he left in 1989 to release his first solo album, ''Don't Say Good-Bye''. "Into The New World" () is the debut single by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. It was composed by Kenzie and written by Kim Jeong-bae. It was released on August 3, 2007, by SM Entertainment and distributed by Genie Music, and on August 6 as a physical copy. It was later included on Girls' Generation's debut album (2007). The group has performed "Into The New World" in a number of live performances on music programs and in all of their Asian concert tours. ''M Countdown'' () is a South Korean music program broadcast by Mnet. The show features appearances by popular music artists who also perform live on stage. It is broadcast from CJ E&M Center Studio in Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul. Broadcast ''M Countdown'' airs live on domestic television at 6PM KST every Thursday.
