2014 Girabola
The 2014 Girabola was the 36th season of top-tier football league in Angola. The season ran from 21 February to 8 November 2014. Kabuscorp were the defending champions, having won their first Angolan championship in 2013. The league comprised 16 teams, the bottom three of which were relegated to the 2015 Segundona. Teams A total of 16 teams contested the league, including 13 sides from the 2013 season and three promoted from the 2013 Segundona, Benfica do Lubango, Sporting de Cabinda, União SC do Uíge. On the other hand, Porcelana FC, Atlético do Namibe, Santos FC were the last three teams of the 2013 season and played in the Segundona for the 2014 season. Kabuscorp were the defending champions from the 2013 season. Daring Club Motema Pembe, or simply DCMP for a short, is a Congolese football club based in Kinshasa. History Created in 1936 under the name Falcon Daring, by the Rev. Father Raphaël de la Kethulle de Ryhove who was a missionary of the Congregation of Scheutistes. He recruited most of its players among college students Sainte-Anne in Kinshasa (currently Elikya college). The DCMP was renamed CS Imana in 1949 before assuming the name of Daring Club Motema Pembe Imana (Imana DCMP) in 1985. With 27 titles at national level since 1963, the DCMP is currently the most successful national club of the DRC. TP Mazembe has more trophies if you include international titles won with 35. Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring (), often simply known as Lierse, was a Belgian professional football club from the city of Lier in the Antwerp province. Lierse have won four championship titles and two Belgian Cups. Mamelodi, part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, is a township set up by the then apartheid government northeast of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Etymology "Mamelodi" is the name derived from the Sepedi word with the prefix being "ma" meaning mother, and the suffix "melodi" meaning melodies.
