Giovanni No Shima
is a 2014 Japanese animated historical drama film directed by Mizuho Nishikubo and produced by Production I.G and co-produced and presented by the Japan Association of Music Enterprises. The film was released on February 22, 2014, in Japan and North America on March 22, 2014, in New York International Children's Film Festival. GKIDS has licensed the film for release in North America and will release it on Blu-ray and Digital on February 21, 2023. The film makes frequent allusions to Kenji Miyazawa's ''Night on the Galactic Railroad'', and borrows the name in its title from that of the book's protagonist. Yoshiki Sakurai
is a Japanese screenwriter and producer. Career Sakurai was born in Tochigi, Japan. He returned there when he was 13, and graduated from University of Tokyo majoring in economics. His theses on Japanese animation and subculture won several awards. While still a college student, he wrote eight episodes of the anime television series '' Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex''. The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (), or BiFan, is an international film festival held annually in July in Bucheon, South Korea. Prior to 2015, it was known as the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival or PiFan. The Moscow International Film Festival (russian: Моско́вский междунаро́дный кинофестива́ль, translit. Kaoru Yachigusa
was a Japanese actress from Osaka Prefecture. From 1947 to 1957 she was a member of the Takarazuka Revue. After leaving the Revue, she was active in film, television, and narration. She famously quit part way through the filming of the television series ''Akai Giwaku'' outraged at being forced to work at times dictated by idol Momoe Yamaguchi's schedule. Her husband, director Senkichi Taniguchi, died on October 29, 2007, in Tokyo, Japan. The couple had been married since 1957. Yachigusa died on October 24, 2019, at a Tokyo hospital from pancreatic cancer, aged 88.
