Giovanni Mario Alessandri
Giovanni Mario Alessandri was an Italian Hispanist and grammarian from the 16th century. He spent a time at the Spanish royal court and he wrote the first Spanish grammar for Italians, ''Il Paragone della Lingua Toscana et Castigliana'' (Nápoles: Mattia Cancer, 1560). There he is particularly careful with phonetics. Philologist
Philology () is the study of language in oral and written historical sources; it is the intersection of textual criticism, literary criticism, history, and linguistics (with especially strong ties to etymology). Philology is also defined as the study of literary texts as well as oral and written records, the establishment of their authenticity and their original form, and the determination of their meaning. Spanish Grammar
Spanish is a grammatically inflected language, which means that many words are modified ("marked") in small ways, usually at the end, according to their changing functions. Verbs are marked for tense, aspect, mood, person, and number (resulting in up to fifty conjugated forms per verb). Nouns follow a two-gender system and are marked for number.
