Giovanni Frezza
Giovanni Frezza (born 8 September 1972) is an Italian former child actor, diver, martial artist and product developer who appeared in a number of films throughout the 1980s. Frezza is possibly best recalled for his roles in several horror films. Early life Giovanni Frezza was born in Potenza, Basilicata, Italy. Career He made his film debut with a minor role the 1980 Marco Bellocchio-directed comedy-drama ''Salto nel vuoto'' (English title: ''A Leap in the Dark''). Frezza then went on to play a variety of juvenile roles, most often in horror films. In 1981 he had a starring role in the gory, supernatural-themed Lucio Fulci-directed ''The House by the Cemetery'' as Bob Boyle, an imperiled child living in a sinister New England house. Lamberto Bava (born 3 April 1944) is an Italian film director. Born in Rome, Bava began working as an assistant director for his director father Mario Bava. Lamberto co-directed the 1979 television film ''La Venere d'Ille'' with his father and in 1980 directed his first solo feature film ''Macabre''. Bava continued working in the 1980s and collaborated with Dario Argento on films such as '' Demons''. ''Demons'' ( it, Dèmoni) is a 1985 Italian horror film directed by Lamberto Bava, produced by Dario Argento, and starring Urbano Barberini and Natasha Hovey. Its plot follows two female university students who, along with a number of random people, are given complimentary tickets to a mysterious movie screening, where they soon find themselves trapped in the theater with a horde of ravenous demons. The story was originally planned to be part of a three-story horror anthology film written by Dardano Sacchetti, but Bava took interest in the story more than the others, so he and Sacchetti began developing it into a separate feature. Argento, beginning to be interested in producing films, would contribute to the screenplay with Franco Ferrini, who was brought in by Argento. ''A Blade in the Dark'' ( it, La casa con la scala nel buio, lit=The House with the Dark Staircase) is a 1983 Italian ''giallo'' film directed by Lamberto Bava. Originally planned for television, the film was made as a nearly two hour piece split into four parts each of which would end with a murder scene. After the film was found to be too gruesome for Italian television censors, it was re-edited into a feature film.
