Giovanni Drenthe
Giovanni Drenthe (born February 16, 1990) is a Surinamese footballer who currently plays as a striker. Drenthe also played for Suriname youth teams. The attacker is the younger brother of football player Royston Drenthe. Club career SV Voorwaarts In the SV Voorwaarts Drenthe mainly plays for the team promise. In the youth competition and Surinamese youth teams talent makes a big impression. He is one of the finest talents in Suriname. The excellent game at the youth teams may participate Drenthe several times with the main force. On January 6, 2008 Drenthe makes his appearance by scoring 8 goals in one match at the highest level in the derby against SV Robinhood (3-4 loss). The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The league was known as the Hoofdklasse but became Topklasse beginning with the 2016–17 season, and then from the 2017–18 season forward, the Eerste Divisie. Wensley Bundel
Wensley Rinaldo Bundel is a former Surinamese football manager and player who last managed S.V. Transvaal in the Surinamese Hoofdklasse. As a player, he played in the Hoofdklasse for S.V. Transvaal, and for the Suriname national team, helping Transvaal to five National titles, and two CONCACAF Champions Cups, during one of the clubs' most successful periods. He has also managed H.O.B. (House Of Billiards), Transvaal and the Suriname national team during the span of his career. He is considered one of the best defensive midfielders in the history of the sport in Suriname, having also helped Suriname to win the CFU Championship in 1978.
