Giovanni Battista Belletti
Giovanni Battista Belletti (17 February 1813 – 27 December 1890)"Belletti, Giovanni Battista" Bibliothèque nationale de France. Retrieved 15 July 2022. was an Italian operatic baritone. He appeared in operas in Italy, Stockholm, London and Paris, and supported Jenny Lind in Jenny Lind's tour of America, her tour of America. Life Belletti was born in 1813 in Sarzana, Italy, son of a local businessman. He showed interest in music at an early age, and his father, being advised to cultivate his son's talent, placed him in the hands of a teacher in the neighbourhood. He was sent soon after, on the teacher's advice, to the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, over which presided. Pilotti taught him counterpoint as well as singing. Julius Benedict
Sir Julius Benedict (27 November 1804 – 5 June 1885) was a German-born composer and conductor, resident in England for most of his career. Life and music Benedict was born in Stuttgart, the son of a Jewish banker, and in 1820 learnt composition from Johann Nepomuk Hummel at Weimar and in 1821 from Carl Maria von Weber at Dresden; it was Weber who introduced him in Vienna to Beethoven on 5 October 1823. In the same year, he was appointed Kapellmeister of the Kärnthnerthor theatre at Vienna, and two years later in 1825, he became Kapellmeister of the San Carlo theatre at Naples. It was here he gave piano lessons to the young prodigy Theodor Döhler. In Naples his first opera, ''Giacinta ed Ernesto'', premiered in 1827, and another, written for his native city, ''I Portoghesi in Goa'', was given there in 1830; neither of these was a great success, and in 1834 he went to Paris, leaving it in 1835 at the suggestion of Maria Malibran for London, where he spent the remai ... Sophie Cruvelli
Sophie Johanne Charlotte Crüwell, vicountess Vigier, stage name Sophie Cruvelli (12 March 1826 – 6 November 1907) was a German opera singer. She was a dramatic soprano who had a brief but stellar public career especially in London and Paris in the middle years of the 19th century. She was admired for her vocal powers and as a tragédienne. Both Verdi and Meyerbeer created operatic roles with the intention that she should first perform them. Origins and training Sophie Crüwell was the daughter of a Protestant Bielefeld family of comfortable means. She showed an early disposition towards music, and she and her sister Marie (later a mezzo-soprano) and her brother (later a baritone) were encouraged and assisted to training by the family. Sophie and Marie commenced their vocal studies with Louis Spohr in Kassel.
