Giorgos Katsoulis
Giorgos Katsoulis ( el, Γιώργος Κατσούλης , 1963 – 22 February 2023) was a Greek water polo player and the assistant coach of Olympiacos Women's Water Polo Team, since 2016. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. NO Vouliagmeni or "NOV" (Greek: Ναυτικός Όμιλος Βουλιαγμένης, "NOB" = Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni) is a major aquatic sports club, founded by local sportsmen in 1937 in the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni, Athens, Greece. The club is located on the eastern edge of the Mikro Kavouri peninsula, adjacent to the Astir Palace Hotel and overlooking the bay, town and lake of Vouliagmeni. Ethnikos Piraeus Water Polo Club is the water polo team of Ethnikos OFPF (meaning: ''National Club of Fans of Piraeus and Phalerum,'' in Greek: ''Εθνικός Όμιλος Φιλάθλων Πειραιώς Φαλήρου''). Women's LEN Trophy
The Women's LEN Trophy is LEN's second-tier competition for women's water polo clubs. It was first held in 2000 as the LEN Women's Cup Winners' Cup. It was contested for many seasons by around 15 teams, which could qualify for it either directly due to high ranking in their domestic league or by being eliminated at certain stages of the Champions' Cup. After the last reformations in the European competitions system by LEN, only four teams contesting for the trophy, coming after elimination at that season's LEN Euro League quarterfinals stage. The Greek Women's Water Polo A1 League ( el, Ελληνικό Πρωτάθλημα Υδατοσφαίρισης της Α1 Γυναικών) is the premier championship for women's water polo teams in Greece. It was founded in 1988, and it is currently contested by eight teams. Greek League is ranked as one of the top national domestic leagues in European water polo. The champion, the runner-up and the third-placed team qualify for the LEN Euro League. The first champion was Ethnikos Piraeus. During the next years Glyfada NSC and NC Vouliagmeni dominated.
