"Ginseng Strip 2002" is a song by Swedish rapper Yung Lean from his debut EP ''Lavender EP'' (2013). It was produced by Yung Gud. The music video of the song went viral in 2013, leading to Lean's rise to fame. The song later garnered renewed popularity in 2022, through the video-sharing app TikTok. Background Producer Yung Gud described the process of recording the song, saying, "'Ginseng Strip 2002' was just a sound check — he ung Leanwas just checking to see if the microphone was working." ''Lavender EP'' is the first EP by Swedish rapper Yung Lean, released on 16 August 2013. Although the EP itself was released after Lean's debut mixtape, '' Unknown Death 2002'', all three tracks on the EP had been released on Lean's YouTube channel prior to it - the earliest and first track Lean ever uploaded was "Greygoose", on 5 December 2012. Carl-Mikael Göran "Micke" Berlander (born 29 August 1995), known professionally as Gud (formerly known as Yung Gud), is a Swedish DJ, music producer and rapper best known as a member of rapper Yung Lean's Stockholm-based group Sad Boys. He began producing at the age of twelve, making psychedelic trance music, which heavily influenced his sonic palette. His production as a part of Sad Boys has been well received. Outside of his role in Sad Boys, he has released an EP, named ''Beautiful, Wonderful'', and a collaborative album, ''Foreign Exchange'', with American rapper Rx Papi.
