''Ginny Aur Johnny'' () is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film. Produced by Amarlal Chabria and directed by Mehmood the film stars Mehmood, Amjad Khan, Helen, Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Vinod Mehra, Nutan, Rakesh Roshan and Baby Ginny, who is Mehmood's own daughter. The film is based on Hollywood movie '' Paper Moon''. Plot The story is of a man named Johnny and a nine-year-old girl Ginny who is Mehmood's daughter. Ginny's mother Rosie dies in an accident and Ginny is left alone. Johnny comes to visit Rosie and during this time he learns about her death. Thus, her villagers request Johnny to take Ginny to an orphanage at Ooty. On the other hand, Johnny, a con man, visits those places where somebody had died and by taking their names, he sells holy books to the families. While travelling to Ooty, he continues his work. Shailendra Singh is an Indian playback singer and actor. He sang several Hindi and a few Marathi songs during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was very close to Mehmood Ali. Early life Shailendra Singh was born on 4 October 1952 in Mumbai, India to a Punjabi family. He studied at Hill Grange High School at Peddar Road, and did his graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He then joined the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune to train as an actor. The name Mohan Choti came from a fictional character of the same name from the 1957 film '' Musafir'', in which he plays a tea shop delivery boy who sports a "choti" or traditional lock of hair on the top of his head. Asit Sen (13 May 1917 – 18 September 1993) was an Indian film director turned famous comedian in the Hindi film industry. He directed 2 films and starred in over 200 films between 1953 and 1993 until his death. As an actor/comedian, he often portrayed a character with authority, such as a police inspector or landlord, but with comic effect, mostly as a slow-speaking person.
