Gimpo FC ( ko, 김포 FC), formerly Gimpo Citizen FC, is a South Korean football club based in the city of Gimpo. Since 2022, they are playing in the K League 2, the second tier of football in South Korea. History Gimpo Citizen FC (2013–2020) The club was founded as Gimpo Citizen FC in 2013. Between 2015 and 2019, they advanced to the K3 League play-offs for five consecutive seasons, but never made it to the finals. Gimpo FC (2021–present) In order to meet the standards for incorporation of the newly reorganized K3 League, the Gimpo FC foundation was established, and the team was also renamed as Gimpo FC in January 2021. The club participated in the semi-professional K3 League until 2021. In their final K3 League season, Gimpo FC finished as runners-up in the regular season, and won the play-offs after defeating Cheonan City 3–2 on aggregate in the final, clinching their first K3 League trophy. 2014 Challengers League
The 2014 Challengers League was the eighth season of the Challengers League. The league was known as Daum K3 Challengers League 2014 due to sponsorship reasons. Competition format The 2014 season ran from March 8 through October 18. The 18 teams in the league were divided into the Group A and Group B — nine in the Group A and nine in the Group B. The Korean FA Cup is a national football cup knockout competition of South Korea, held annually by the Korea Football Association (KFA). Before the FA Cup was established in 1996, two predecessor competitions named All Joseon Football Tournament (1921–1940) and Korean National Football Championship (1946–2000) were played, but the FA Cup did not succeed their records. K3 League (2007–2019)
The K3 League was a South Korean amateur football league held annually from 2007 to 2019. It was considered the third-highest division of the South Korean football league system before the K League 2 was launched in 2013, and the fourth-highest division since then. In 2017, it was divided into ''K3 League Advanced'' and fifth-tier league ''K3 League Basic'', and introduced a system of promotion and relegation. In 2020, it was reborn as a K3 League, semi-professional league after merging with the Korea National League. Suwon FC ( ko, 수원 FC; Hanja: 水原 FC) is a South Korean professional football club based Suwon that competes in the K League 1, the top division of South Korea. They play their home games at Suwon Stadium. History Early years: semi-professional Suwon city government decided to create a semi-professional level football club that would link school-level football clubs within the city and Suwon Samsung Bluewings, which is a professional club based in the city. Choi Bong-jin (; born 6 April 1992) is a South Korean footballer who plays as goalkeeper for Jeonnam Dragons in K League 2. Early life Choi was born in South Korea. He went to Chung-Ang University. Jeju United Football Club (Hangul: 제주 유나이티드) is a South Korean professional football club based in Jeju Province that competes in the K League 1, the top division in South Korea.
