Gim Seong-ju (presenter)
Kim Sung-joo (born October 10, 1972) is a South Korean television host and a former announcer. A former sports broadcaster and presenter, he became known to the wider public as a variety show host and for his stint on the reality-variety show ''Dad! Where Are We Going?''. Early life Born and raised in North Chungcheong Province, Kim is the son of a Presbyterian minister. He attended high school in Cheongju and moved to Seoul, where he graduated from Chung-Ang University. Career Kim started his broadcasting career in 1995 as a public service announcement reader with the government channel KTV. He went into sports broadcasting, joining Korea TV Sports (now SBS Sports) and then Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). While with MBC he became popular as a current affairs presenter and notably covered the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups. In 2007 he left MBC to be a freelancer after seven years with the station. ''The King of Mask Singer'' () is a South Korean singing competition program presented by Kim Sung-joo, with introductions by voice actor . It airs on MBC on Sunday, starting from April 5, 2015 as a part of MBC's '' Sunday Night'' programming block. Format Each competition lasts for two episodes, with the singers competing one-on-one in three elimination rounds. They are given elaborate masks which are made by designer and gloves to wear in order to conceal their identity, thus removing factors such as popularity, career and age that could lead to prejudiced voting. In the first round, both contestants sing the same song, while in the second and third round they each sing a solo song. The winners of each pair are selected by the audience and panel of celebrities through instant live votes. The identities of the singers are not revealed until they have been eliminated. Jung Hyung-don (; born February 7, 1978) is a South Korean comedian and television host. He is best known for his roles on the variety shows ''Infinite Challenge'' and ''Weekly Idol''. Early life and education Jung was born in Gimcheon in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. As a child, he moved with his family to Busan, where he later attended Busan Electronic Technical High School. After graduation, he worked for Samsung Electronics in Suwon for six years before entering the entertainment industry. Kim Yong-man (born November 30, 1967) is a South Korean comedian. He is currently signed with the entertainment agency, FNC Entertainment. Education In 2005, Kim was a student at Sungkyunkwan University's School of Art where he aimed to improve his acting skills for his sitcom, '' Nonstop 5'', having previously studied at Seoul Institute of the Arts in 1992. Career In 1991, Kim won the Grand Prize in the National College Comedy Contest, making his official debut in the South Korean entertainment industry.
