John Aden Gillett is a British actor. He is best known for playing the role of Jack Maddox on the BBC series ''The House of Eliott''. Biography and career Gillet was born in the city of Aden, Yemen, from which he got his name. He attended Elizabeth College, Guernsey. Aden trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. He has received a number of awards and honours for his work, including the Tree Prize, the Sir Emile Littler Prize, the Vanbrugh Prize and the Radio Prize. He received the Theatre World Award for Best Newcomer on Broadway for his performance in "An Inspector Calls" at the Royale Theatre, Broadway. Leslie John Gillett (born 17 November 1970) is an English international indoor and lawn bowls player. He is nicknamed Razor. Bowls career Indoor career Gillett won the 2001 World Indoor Bowls Championship pairs title in Great Yarmouth with bowls partner Mark McMahon. Sixteen years later he won his second title when he won the Open pairs with Jason Greenslade at the 2017 World Indoor Bowls Championship in Great Yarmouth. At the 2022 World Indoor Bowls Championship, Gillett (as the sixth seed) finally won the Open singles title after defeating five-time champion Paul Foster in a tie-break set in the final. Gillett won the first set by virtue of overtaking Foster's lead during the final ends. Foster comfortably won the second set before Gillett won the tie break. Jarred Gavan Gillett (born 1 November 1986) is an Australian football referee in the Premier League, following the announcement on 3 August 2021 that he had been promoted to the Select Group referees list. Career Gillett has refereed five Hyundai A-League Grand Finals (2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and has been named the Hyundai A-League Referee of the Year on five occasions (2011–12, 2014–15, 2015–16, 2016–17 and 2017–18). A Republican involved in federal and state politics, Gillett was elected both a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California from March 4, 1903, to November 4, 1906, and as the 22nd governor of California from January 9, 1907, to January 3, 1911. Biography James Gillett was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin, on September 20, 1860. As a young child, Gillett moved with his parents to Sparta, Wisconsin at the age of five. Ivor Gillett
Ivor John Gillett, GC (16 September 1928 – 26 March 1950) was a British airman and a recipient of the George Cross. Serving with the Far East Flying Boat Wing of the Royal Air Force, Gillett was posthumously awarded the George Cross for the gallantry he displayed on 26 March 1950 following an explosion on board a Sunderland flying boat. George Cross Gillett was on board a Sunderland flying boat that exploded at its moorings in Seletar on 26 March 1950. The plane sank quickly and Gillett was thrown a life belt by rescuers on a launch. He selflessly threw the belt to an injured corporal, whom the rescue team had not spotted, and the belt kept the man afloat until he was rescued. The corporal had by then lost consciousness and would otherwise have drowned. Gillett disappeared in the confusion and his body was discovered two days later. Ian Gillett (20 September 1928 – 28 February 2008) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the VFL during the 1950s. Gillett was a ruckman but was also capable of playing the key positions. He was South Melbourne's leading goalkicker in 1953 and won the Best and Fairest award in 1956.
