Fontvieille, Monaco
Fontvieille (; lij, Funtanaveya ) is the southernmost ward in the Principality of Monaco. It was developed by an Italian architect, Manfredi Nicoletti, between the 1970s and the 1990s. Gildo Pallanca Pastor (born 1 April 1967) is a Monaco, Monegasque businessman, CEO and owner of Venturi (electric car company), Venturi. Early life Gildo Pallanca Pastor was born in Monaco, the son of Claude Pallanca and the heiress and businesswoman Hélène Pastor. He has a sister, Sylvia Pastor. He studied law in France, economic sciences in Italy and real estate construction at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge in the United States. Career Gildo Pallanca Pastor purchased Venturi (electric car company), Venturi in 2001. Venturi is a Monaco-based automotive manufacturer. Founded in 1984 by French engineers Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godfroy as ''MVS (Manufacture de Voitures de Sport)'', the company's purpose was to compete in the " Grand Tourisme" market. This was only the most recent post-war attempt at building a sporty luxury car in France, following in the footsteps of Facel Vega, Monica, and Ligier. As with its predecessors, Venturi was immediately faced with many challenges ranging from an unknown name to its under-capitalized and under-staffed state. Venturi did nonetheless manage to continue in production for nearly sixteen years, declaring bankruptcy in 2000. Gildo Pastor (October 6, 1910 – October 21, 1990) was a Monégasque businessman and property developer. Life and career Gildo Pastor was born in Monaco as the son of Jean-Baptiste Pastor, a stonemason from Liguria in Italy, who immigrated to Monte Carlo as a young man in the 1880s. He was educated at the Public Works School. In 1950, he became the Lebanese consul in Monaco. After World War II, Pastor acquired oceanfront land at low prices, and in the 1950s, he started building apartment blocks. With a conservative, debt-averse approach, the Pastor family eventually owned some 3,000 apartments, representing 15% of Monaco's total housing stock and worth about Euro 20 billion. Oceanco is a privately owned custom yacht builder, based in the Netherlands, that builds full displacement yachts in the range since 1987. It is owned by Mohammed Al Barwani, an Omani billionaire.
