Gilda Buttà (born July 29, 1959, in Patti, Sicily) is an Italian pianist. After studying piano at "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan, she won the Franz Liszt Prize in 1976, and started a concert pianist career. She has recorded several film soundtracks, most notably that written by Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone for Giuseppe Tornatore's film ''The Legend of 1900''. Patti, Sicily
Patti is a town and ''comune'' in northeastern Sicily, southern Italy, administratively part of the Metropolitan City of Messina, on the western shore of the gulf of the same name. It is located from Messina. Giuseppe Tornatore (born 27 May 1956) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. Michel Petrucciani (; ; 28 December 1962 – 6 January 1999) was a French jazz pianist. From birth he had osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic disease that causes brittle bones and, in his case, short stature.
