Gigamic
Gigamic is a French publisher and distributor of games started up by three brothers. Gigamic started in 1991 by three of six brothers named Stéphane Gires, Ludovic Gires and Jean-Christophe Gires. Since 2001, Gigamic has operated a distribution center in France. Games The company produces games and brain teasers for all ages. Gigamic has around 400 board game references adapted to all. Gigamic games have been produced in over 30 languages and 45 countries. Gigamic games have won a number of awards all over the world and several are considered as classics. Quoridor
''Quoridor'' is a 2 or 4-player intuitive strategy game designed by Mirko Marchesi and published by Gigamic Games. Quoridor received the '' Mensa Mind Game'' award in 1997 and the ''Game Of The Year'' in the United States, France, Canada and Belgium. Rules of the game Quoridor is played on a game board of 81 square spaces (9x9). Each player is represented by a pawn which begins at the center space of one edge of the board (in a two-player game, the pawns begin opposite each other). The objective is to be the first player to move their pawn to any space on the opposite side of the game board from which it begins. The distinguishing characteristic of Quoridor is its twenty walls. Walls are flat two-space-wide pieces which can be placed in the groove that runs between the spaces. Walls block the path of all pawns, which must go around them. Pylos (board Game)
Pylos (, ) is a board game invented by David G. Royffe and published by Gigamic. Royffe first conceived the game in 1964 using his family’s snooker balls. He took his idea to the 1994 Essen game fair Internationale Spieltage SPIEL, often called the Essen Game Fair after the city where it is held, is an annual four-day boardgame trade fair which is also open to the public held in October (Thursday to the following Sunday) at the Messe Essen e ... in Germany. At that time, the game was called ''Elevation'', but this was changed to Pyraos when it was published by Gigamic, and later to Pylos. Gameplay Each player starts off with 15 balls. Players take turns taking pieces from their reserve pile, and placing them on a 4x4 game board made up of 16 indentations. Quarto (board Game)
''Quarto'' is a board game for two players invented by Swiss mathematician Blaise Müller. It is published and copyrighted by Gigamic. The game is played on a 4×4 board. There are 16 unique pieces to play with, each of which is either: * tall or short; * red or blue (or a different pair of colors, e.g. light- or dark-stained wood); * square or circular; and * hollow-top or solid-top. Players take turns choosing a piece which the other player must then place on the board. A player wins by placing a piece on the board which forms a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row of four pieces, all of which have a common attribute (all short, all circular, etc.). A variant rule included in many editions gives a second way to win by placing four matching pieces in a 2×2 square. ''Quarto'' is distinctive in that there is only one set of common pieces, rather than a set for one player and a different set for the other. It is therefore an impartial game. Essen (; Latin: ''Assindia'') is the central and, after Dortmund, second-largest city of the Ruhr, the largest urban area in Germany.
