Gideon (film)
''Gideon'' is a 1998 American romantic tragic comedy starring Christopher Lambert, Charlton Heston and Carroll O'Connor. The film was directed by Claudia Hoover and written by Brad Mirman with music by Anthony Marinelli. Plot Gideon Oliver Dobbs is a man with a mental disability. He moves into a nursing home known as Lakeview, with many elderly inhabitants. They are all grumpy old men and women. Gideon is much younger than the other residents, which causes confusion when he first introduces himself. His view of life makes the seniors look at their lives in a different way. Cast Reception ''Variety'' gave a negative review of the film, stating, "Despite its old gold cast, ''Gideon'' stubbornly remains a schmaltzy, derivative tale about a simpleton-sage (Christopher Lambert) whose underage sojourn in a hope-gone rest home revolutionizes the residents’ lives. Christopher Lambert
Christophe Guy Denis "Christopher" Lambert (; ; born March 29, 1957) is a French-American actor, producer, and novelist. He started his career playing supporting parts in several French films, and became internationally famous for portraying Tarzan in '' Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes'' (1984). For his performance in the film '' Subway'' (1985), he received the César Award for Best Actor. His most famous role is Connor MacLeod in the adventure-fantasy film '' Highlander'' (1986) and the subsequent franchise of the same name. Harvey Korman
Harvey Herschel Korman (February 15, 1927May 29, 2008) was an American actor and comedian who performed in television and film productions. His big break was being a featured performer on CBS' ''The Danny Kaye Show'', but he is best remembered for his performances on the sketch comedy series ''The Carol Burnett Show'', for which he won four Emmy Awards, as well as his partnership with Tim Conway. Korman also appeared in several comedy films by Mel Brooks. Early life Korman was of Russian Jewish descent and born in Chicago, the son of Ellen (née Blecher) and Cyril Raymond Korman, a salesman. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After being discharged, he studied at the Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago (now at DePaul University) and at HB Studio.
