ProB
The ProB is the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 24 teams, separated into a Northern and a Southern Division. Officially, the ProB is part of the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the winning team of the playoffs in each division, qualify for the ProA, and the teams positioned in 9th place and lower, fight in the play-downs, for the whereabouts in the league. Nördlingen
Nördlingen (; Swabian: ''Nearle'' or ''Nearleng'') is a town in the Donau-Ries district, in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany, with a population of approximately 20,674. It is located approximately east of Stuttgart, and northwest of Munich. It was built in an impact crater 15 million years old and 25 km in diameter—the Nördlinger Ries—of a meteorite which hit with an estimated speed of 70,000 km/h, and left the area riddled with an estimated 72,000 tons of micro-diamonds. Basketball Bundesliga
The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are relegated to a lower-tier league. The playoffs are played in a "Best of five" format. The winning team of the final round are crowned the German Champions of that season. In addition to the league competition, all BBL teams compete for the German Basketball Cup. Teams playing in the second league (ProA or ProB), or in a lower level Regionalliga, are also eligible to participate in the BBL-Cup. Osvaldo Jeanty (born August 1, 1983) is a Canadian basketball coach and former professional basketball player. He is one of the all-time greats of the Carleton University Ravens men's basketball team and a member of the Ravens' Hall of Fame. Jeanty was named ''CIS male athlete of the year'' in 2006, and ''CIS basketball player of the year'' in 2006 and 2007. He also played on Canada's men's national team.
