Giants Brigades
The Southern Giants Brigades (), transliterated as Al Amalikah or Al Amaliqah, or simply known as the Giants Brigades, is a Cabinet of Yemen, pro-government Yemeni militia. Its fighters are mostly South Yemeni tribesmen from Lahij Governorate, Lahej, Abyan Governorate, Abyan and Dhale Governorate, Dhale. They include Salafi movement, Salafi students of Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wadi'i, Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wadi'i's ''Dar al-hadith'' religious institute in Dammaj, Saada Governorate, Saada that were expelled by the Houthi movement, Houthis in early 2014. The militia is part of the Yemeni Joint Forces and is the largest faction in the formation. The Giants Brigades also receives extensive support from the United Arab Emirates militarily and financially. Abyan Governorate
Abyan ( ar, أَبْيَن ) is a governorate of Yemen. The Abyan region was historically part of the Fadhli Sultanate. It was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army militant group. Its capital is the city of Zinjibar. This governorate is noted for its agriculture, in particular the cultivation of date palms and animal husbandry. Abyan Governorate borders Shabwa Governorate to the east, Aden Governorate and Lahij Governorate to the west, Shabwa Governorate and Al Bayda Governorate to the north, and the Arabian Sea to the south. Battle Of Marib
The Battle of Marib is an ongoing battle that erupted since February 2021 following the advance of the Houthis towards the city of Marib, the capital of Marib Governorate in Yemen controlled by the Cabinet of Yemen. Marib ( ar, مَأْرِب, Maʾrib) is a governorate of Yemen. It is located 173 kilometers to the northeast of Yemen's capital, Sana'a. The population of Marib Governorate comprises 1.2% of the country's total population. Saudi Arabian–led Intervention In Yemen
On 26 March 2015, Saudi Arabia, leading a coalition of nine countries from West Asia and North Africa, launched an intervention in the Yemeni Civil War in response to calls from the president of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi for military support after he was ousted by the Houthi movement. Yemeni Civil War (1994)
The Yemeni Civil War was a civil war fought between the two Yemeni forces of the pro-union northern and the socialist separatist southern Yemeni states and their supporters. Dammaj
Dammaj ( ar, دماج, Dammāj) is a small town in the Sa'dahI Governorate of north-western Yemen, southeast by road from Sa'dah in a valley of the same name.
